According to the legends of China, there are three legendary emperors who played a significant role in history of Traditional Chinese Medicine. First, Fu Xi (around 3000 BC) was a leader who discovered the flow between Heaven and Earth which he embodied in the principles of Yin and Yang. He also created nine needles used in treating acupuncture points. He is considered as the father of acupuncture and moxibustion. Second, Shen Nong (around 3000 BC) is considered as the founder of Chinese herbal medicine. In order to determine the nature of different herbs, Shen Nong sampled various kinds of plants, test and analyze their individual effects. Third, Huang Di (around 475-221 BC) is associated with Huang Di Nei Jing, also known as the Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor which is the earliest and most important written documentation of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CHINESE TRADITIONAL MEDICINE AND WESTERN MEDICINE
Chinese medicine is a system of health care developed thousands of years ago. Western medicine, while quite ubiquitous in the United States, is a much more recent phenomenon.
1. Divergent approaches to patient exams:
Western doctors may be most interested in vital signs such as weight, height, body temperature, and blood pressure, and have signs of illness, but Chinese medicine practitioners examine the entire body and may be as concerned about a person's physical problems as other aspects of their lives. , including their relationship with the family, life stress or mental state.
The difference between Oriental medicine and Western doctors is that it is not for all patients with certain symptoms to make a "one size fits all" thing, Oriental Medicine will act according to each person's needs and unique body. In essence, Western medicine and Chinese medicine are a short-term and long-term action plan. Chinese medicine has a long-term perspective.
2. Differences in diagnostic practices:
Some of the methods Chinese medicine uses to correct imbalances and create harmony: Diet therapy,  Acupuncture, Massage, Herbal remedies, Chinese exercise, Meditation.
Western medicine often relies on pharmaceutical therapies to address health issues, while Chinese medicine relies on more natural substances.

3.The Cultural Differences between Two Medical Systems:
Traditional Chinese and Western medicine originated from different social contexts and cultural bases, representing the two completely different medical systems of the East and West. Modern Western medicine belongs to the stream of "natural science" while Traditional Chinese Medicine is a stream of "philosophical medicine". Being part of the "Traditional Chinese culture", it possesses the dual characteristics of "philosophical medicine"and "natural science". In this connection, gaining a clear understanding in the nature of Traditional Chinese Medicine field as well as familiarizing with the philosophical basis of the Traditional Chinese Medicine theories are required before pursuing studies, research and development of the field and grasping the essence of traditional Chinese Medicine theories.
